How to Interpret Room Codes:

Numbers without codes: 100, 101, … 160, etc. are on the first floor of THIS building.

Numbers without codes: 200, 201, … 263, etc. are on the second floor of THIS building.

NOTES:

WH = White House - Exit the building either from the AC Lobby (general student commons area) on the left side of the lobby as you are facing the glass windows, then down the stairs, past 165, then head for the large White House ahead and to your right.

WH - Admit: 2nd floor of White House, to the right when you get to the top of the stairway on the second floor.

WH - 201, 202 - 2nd floor of White House, to the left when you get to the top of the stairway on the second floor.

WH - Bus Office 301 - 3rd floor of White House

SPORTS CENTER - Extemp ONLY - From the AC Lobby, go to the other side of the lobby - go past the Cafe - exit the building between rooms 100 and 101. Then go straight and to your right.

ANX = Circle W Annex - same general direction as the sports center - the Annex is to the left of the sports center when you are exiting the main building between rooms 100 and 101.

COT = Cottage - same general direction as the sports center, but it is the first building you see when you exit the main building between rooms 100 and 101. It is a small 2-story white building.

Additional Notes and Reminders:

- Do not enter your room until your judge arrives.

- Once you enter your room, your phone should be SHUT OFF. It should not be out. You should not be on it in between speakers. Nothing.

- Be kind and respectful to everyone. We were invited to this tournament. Let's represent our school well in regards to behavior, so we are invited again in the future.

- Once the Awards Ceremony starts, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should phones be out, or talking/conversing/chit-chating be taking place. Respect the students who are receiving awards, just like how you would expect the same if you were up there.

-Be patient with this tournament. This is not a snappy Youngstown Tournament. There may be delays in between rounds, and Awards may last longer than what we are used to. Every district runs things differently. Be flexible with their rules, policies, and norms if you notice changes.

-If there is a delay in between rounds, try not to let your energy drop by napping or relaxing in your seat. We don't want you going into your next round with no energy or a stale stature. Stay fresh!

-DO NOT spend the day complaining to me and asking me "when are we going home?" Or "Is it over yet?" Otherwise, I promise you I will NEVER buy you a cookie ever again.

-Thank the bus driver every time you get off the bus.

-Have fun! Enjoy the day. Learn from your competitors. This is a great opportunity you have to witness speeches from other districts.
